Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers stated they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials say initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.

A high-ranking representative commented the attack rendered him without words and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on people of migrant background in February 2020.
