19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's initial title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since March of that year.
Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different events.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
His defensive strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to create a final set.
The opponent rescued four early-game break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
